Companion: Personal Safety App Reviews

Told my friend I was being her companion when I didnt get any notifications and her location wasnt showing on my app.

This app is such a great idea and I was so excited for it, however none of my companions get a notification from me when I select them. Hopefully there is a fix for this soon ☺️

Will not except input for selection of gender.

My phone is not notified when companion request is sent to me (from an iPhone 4s). However when I (iPhone 5s) send one, it is sent and received. I dont receive any messages, even "I feel nervous" messages. However, they can open up a text conversation with me. Did not test the "call police" button for obvious reasons.

This is a great app! Whenever Im walking at night by myself I use this app to let my boyfriend know that Im getting home safely. It makes both of us less nervous

I have not received the code to activate the app. I clicked resend about 20 times and still nothing. I can not even access the app.

Heard about this app downloaded it tried it out using an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 6 Plus and in its buggy it doesnt work it gets notifications 12 hours later that Im in trouble wants to tell everybody that Im having problems this is all with the most recent updates as of today, this app is crap. Could be great but isnt even good. Will be looking for an alternative after I remove and delete.

The app has a really nice interface, its user friendly and has helpful features. However its buggy. It crashed on my way home and then notified me that it was going to send an alert to my friends that I was not ok, even though I had already gotten home safely.

My wife and I both installed it. She tried to start a trip, it gave her an error saying it failed to start a trip. She tapped "I feel nervous", I didnt get an alert. Thanks for nothing, deleting it now... ;)

I really love this app and what it stands for but it continuously crashes which means I basically have no use for it.

This app would be great if only it worked. Its extremely buggy, if it works at all. Im going to hang onto it in hopes that they fix these issues.

I love the idea of this app because I am a young woman who has to walk alone alot in a weird neighbourhood. But as soon as I try to add a companion, the app crashes on me! Please fix so I can feel safe!

Love this app! Sadly needed. Gives peace of mind to you and your friends. Some suggestions for the creators though- instead of alerting the companions when you reach your destination let the walker do it manually. I find it says Im at my destination way before Im there. Also make a way to contact just the companions - sometimes theres an emergency that may not be cop worthy.

Great if your used to a lot of app crashes. iPhone 5s this shouldnt be happening.

Great app! I used this to track my daughter and she launches the app every time shes on her way home from school. Video integration would be nice in the near future. Community watch would be cool - if we could track groups of kids walking home -- like a neighbourhood watch. Making sure everyone gets home safely.

Love the idea of the app. But I just walked to the corner store at 1:30 am let my friend know via companion and she did not receive any notice even when I said I felt worried!!!! I was luckily able to communicate vie text but this app is supposed to notify friends and make you have a safe trip. No so much in my case!

I love this app its really great! The only complaint I have is that sometimes its laggy and takes a bit to load. However its still really good.

I love this app. Only have two concerns. 1. The app sent my "companion" an alert that I had arrived home safe when I was still half a block from my destination. A lot can happen in half a block in the city at night when youre alone. 2. You should have to put in a code only you know once you get to your destination in order to let your "companion" you arrived safely. Otherwise if your phone were taken by someone who meant to do you harm, they could suspend the "trip" and your "companions" would just assume you ended your trip and are safe.
